Any five letters is a legal guess.
Buffale does not check your guess against a dictionary, since plenty of
Buffalo answers are names, not words. That also means a typo will cost
you a guess, so look before you press Enter.
A hint unlocks after your first guess. Use it whenever you want, your result notes it if you do.
Around here, wings come with blue cheese, "Mr. Brightside" counts as a
fight song, and the only "May Day" anyone celebrates is a Sabres goal.

How to play
Guess the day's five-letter answer in six tries. It can be anything
from Buffalo sports: the Bills, Sabres, UB, the Braves and other Buffalo
teams, plus the players, coaches, venues and moments that go with them,
past or present, pro or college.
Type five letters and press Enter. After each guess, the tiles
change color to show how close you were:

Right letter, right spot. This letter is in the
answer, exactly where you put it.
N
Right letter, wrong spot. This letter is in the
answer, but somewhere else.
Y
Not in the answer. This letter is not in today's
answer at all.
Colors hard to tell apart? Turn on High-contrast tile
markers above to add a shape to every present and absent tile,
key, and board recap, not just its color.
